Troubleshooting
When something doesn’t work the way you expect, start here. If your problem isn’t listed, email us from the Support page.
“Jupiter is view-only. Unlock Jupiter to edit.”
Section titled ““Jupiter is view-only. Unlock Jupiter to edit.””Your map is view-only because the free trial hasn’t been started or has ended. Open Settings ▸ Purchase: start the trial, unlock Jupiter, or, if you’ve already bought it with your Apple Account, click Restore Purchases. Your map is never changed while it’s view-only.
Settings ▸ Purchase says “Couldn’t check with the App Store”
Section titled “Settings ▸ Purchase says “Couldn’t check with the App Store””Jupiter couldn’t confirm your purchase, usually because the Mac is offline or not signed in to the App Store. Everything keeps working in the meantime. Connect to the internet, then click Sign In to the App Store… on the Purchase tab.
I bought Jupiter on another Mac, but this one still shows the trial
Section titled “I bought Jupiter on another Mac, but this one still shows the trial”Open Settings ▸ Purchase and click Restore Purchases, signing in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
An item won’t go where I drag it
Section titled “An item won’t go where I drag it”Jupiter keeps items from overlapping and from running past the edge of their container. When you move a group, the whole group snaps back if any one item doesn’t fit, and you’ll see “Some items in the group don’t fit.” Clear some space, or make the container bigger, then try again. See Selection, Moving, and Bulk Edits.
A New command in the Item menu is greyed out
Section titled “A New command in the Item menu is greyed out”Select a container first: the Item menu’s New commands create inside whatever Dimension, Goal, or Project is selected, so New Goal needs a Dimension selected, for example. Only New Dimension works with nothing selected.
Duplicate says “Not enough room to duplicate”
Section titled “Duplicate says “Not enough room to duplicate””A duplicate goes directly below the original, on the same dates. If there’s no room below (the item is at the bottom of its container), make the container taller or move the item up, then duplicate again.
Paste doesn’t work on a Vision Board
Section titled “Paste doesn’t work on a Vision Board”Cmd+V only pastes into a Vision Board when the board is in the middle of the window. Scroll so the board is centered, or right-click the board and choose Paste. See Vision Boards.
Jupiter is too bright, or too dark
Section titled “Jupiter is too bright, or too dark”Pick a different theme in Settings ▸ Appearance. Jupiter doesn’t follow your Mac’s dark mode; the theme is always your choice. See Themes and Appearance.
I’ve lost my place on the canvas
Section titled “I’ve lost my place on the canvas”Press Cmd+T to jump back to today, or Cmd+0 to reset the zoom.
