Your Data
Where your plan lives
Section titled “Where your plan lives”On your Mac, and only there. Jupiter has no account, doesn’t sync, and doesn’t send your plan anywhere. For the details, see the Privacy Policy.
Backing up
Section titled “Backing up”Because your plan lives on your Mac, a backup of your Mac is a backup of your plan. Use Time Machine, or whichever backup tool you already trust; it includes Jupiter’s data, snapshots and all.
For a version you especially want to keep, save a snapshot and choose Export to File from its ⋯ menu. That gives you a copy outside Jupiter that you can keep wherever you like.
Snapshots aren’t backups
Section titled “Snapshots aren’t backups”A snapshot is a saved copy of your map that you can go back to. It protects you from changes you regret, not from losing your Mac, because it lives inside Jupiter alongside the map itself. Use snapshots for “before I reorganize,” and backups for everything else.
Starting over
Section titled “Starting over”Settings ▸ Data has two ways to replace your whole map:
- Start Fresh… clears everything and leaves four empty Dimensions. It saves a “Before Start Fresh” snapshot first, and keeps your other snapshots, so you can still go back.
- Restore Sample Content… brings back the sample plan Jupiter came with. It also deletes every saved snapshot, so export any you want to keep before you use it.
See Settings for the details.
If your trial ends
Section titled “If your trial ends”Your plan is safe. When the 30-day trial ends without a purchase, Jupiter becomes view-only: you can look around, zoom, search, and export, but not edit. Nothing is deleted or changed. Unlock Jupiter in Settings ▸ Purchase and you pick up exactly where you left off.
To take your plan with you while it’s view-only, open the Snapshots panel: Export saves your current map to a file, and Export to File on any saved snapshot saves that one.
